Why I No Longer Support the National GOP

Because swine like this guy are still welcome in the Party as prominent members:

Pull quote:

“The old smoke-filled rooms were mostly about how do we win and move the ball forward. They were professional politicians, which is the art of getting policy victories for a point of view by organizing and persuading,” he argued. “People say, ‘Oh, it’s anti-democratic,’” he continued. “No, that’s what the general election is for. I like the idea of party elites making rational choices in the primary.”

    Briefly scanned the article.

If things keep going the way they are (try to cover it up as the MSM is/does), people will want Trump to run again.

I gave up on the GOP after 2014 entirely. Used to donate to the party, now it’s just to candidates. At the rate they’ve been performing, ever since 2012, the party is dying, anyway. I vote for picking a name for what needs to be a personal freedom party. BTW, MLH, Trump has seven more years in office ahead of him. The bloodshed in DC is delightful!

I let my membership in my state GOP lapse. Three times. I agree with Trinity W., I support candidates and not the Party.
Donald Trump has exposed them for who they really are.
Nevertheless, I am a safe vote for even a feckless Republican in general election races, on account of the Democrats are so dangerous.

The most irritating and absurd part of the piece was the suggestion that Mitt Romney would be a viable candidate in 2020. Have these people learned nothing?

‘They have learned nothing and forgot nothing,’ as Talleyrand might have appraised the Bourbons. Fortunately, irremediable twerps like Murphy have no desire to be in government at any level, usually confining their predations to looting campaign funds from hapless RINO toffs like Jeb! while leading them to ignominious political defeat.

Agreed. And no, Drlorentz, they’ve learned nothing. Why? Because they couldn’t care less.

?This guy is some kind of political strategist. ?Where’s he been – on the Space Station.

Let’s just not discuss Trump’s “style”. Let’s instead look at results. After ONE YEAR (only) Trump has caused the stock market to soar, jobs to increase, some measure of unemployment (I no longer really know just how many Americans are unemployed as the government has so obfuscated those numbers) is the lowest in decades, companies are giving workers pay raises and bonuses, corporations appear to be returning to America, and the world FEARS US AGAIN! I’ll take that, and don’t care about the style.

?Why in the world would this nincompoop think Trump would NOT run in 2020 for a second term – and probably win a Reagan-like landslide.

  7. DevereauxDevereaux says:

We are told the world out there is a dangerous place. Yet today the media is focused on Trump calling some shitholes … shitholes. Horrors! Calamity!

    These guys need a life.

A great quote from American Greatness:

“We live in a surreal moment when it becomes ever harder to tell the truth about sensitive subjects. Donald Trump has strutted across our timid landscape like a wrecking ball, telling truths, putting noses out of joint. The toffs will never forgive him, but I suspect the American people have stronger stomachs and are up to the task.”
