Pre-trip Pix

We leave next Monday for three weeks out and about.  First stop is Ft. Stevens State Park near Astoria, then on to Gray’s harbor area on the central Washington coast, then lastly to the foothills of Mt Rainier for some biking and sightseeing.  I’ll take pix along the way; charging the batteries on my good camera right now.  So, until we’re in a place where I have decent WiFi, I’ll part for now with these last few pix from the yard.  One is regular visitors to the pond and the other is our Watermelon Crepe Myrtle tree in full summer bloom.  It blooms late here because what it really likes is zone 7, and we’re at about 5 1/2.

It’s largely my wife’s fault. She picks the plantings, and I’m just the infrastructure guy.

Sounds great. Nothing like a road trip to settle the soul.

Unhitch the trailer and drive the ten miles of open beach south from Fort Stevens to Gearhart.

    One of my favorite runs.

We are doing North Cascades in WA this month and then thinking about a week in the Utah parks in October.

If you get to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (no, not in UT but not far) the 10 or 11th we could run into each other.

I didn’t know about that stretch of beach access. Thanks! We’re doing the parks by Moab next spring. We’ve been to Bryce and Zion both in the spring and fall. Can’t decide which is best; a good problem to have, eh?

don’t forget the less visited Capital Reef.

I just checked out the Capitol Reef NP website. Beautiful area. I’m going to try and find a nearby RV resort. Thanks for the tip, MLH.
