I’ve watched a total lunar eclipse when the moon was full. Totality was pretty awe inspiring. If I were at a place able to view the solar totality, I’d be going out to look.

Can we get back to talking about me? Did you see how Brent praised me? Do you want a link?

  3. PencilvaniaPencilvania says:

Dime now has a Sun King Complex. thanks, Brent!

The eclipse mania around here in PA is over the top, and we are not even in the region where it will be total. The special glasses are sold out everywhere, and it has lead all news stories for days. I have eye problems already, so to anything that can potentially damage my vision, my reaction is, I can live without it.

Centime, you may well be an eclipse.

I’m working down here in Evansville, IN. ALL hotel rooms have been sold out! And locals are planning on going down to KY to see it better. As if 99.9% is not enough.

But I have the day off tomorrow so I may go outside to photo it. Let you know if I do.

I looked up at a total eclipse when I was 8, and spent the rest of the year waiting to go blind.

  7. RightAnglesRightAngles says:

    Hilarious Trump tweet, Pencil.

  8. BrentB67BrentB67 says:

No kidding. Some guy at the gym asked me yesterday where I was going to watch the eclipse. I politely told him STFU and do a set or get off the bench.

Ordered the glasses when they were still $3, we live in the area of 99.93% totality, so we just wandered outside and spent a fun fifteen minutes watching the show through the equivalent of a welders mask.

Even with 99.93%, it was still very light out.
THe tempeture dropped by ten degrees for a few hours though.

Local authorities in the Statist State of Oregon went berserk predicting doom, chaos and civil disorder.

Nothing happened. People watched the eclipse in a cloudless sky (a sign of a true anomaly in the Pacific NW)and went back about their business.

A fun fifteen minutes. Glad I bought the glasses when I did.

Who is going to wake Pencil? I say we let Sleeping Logs Lie.

  11. PencilvaniaPencilvania says:

Now if it had been the moon blocking out Maxine Waters, that I would have enjoyed.

  12. PencilvaniaPencilvania says:

I think the moon passed in front of Chris Christie once, but could only manage a partial eclipse.
