Just a Guess….

I believe we may be seeing the semblance of the Obamacare replacement marketing program.

  • The President is positioning it would be easier to just let it crash and burn , that the Democrats built a pile of junk.
  • He met with the Insurance CEOs to bring them into the mix, probably telling them to crank of their “Harry and Louise” advertisement departments to flood TV with what a great deal the replacement will be, many plans to choose from to meet your needs and budget.
  • He is tying replacement to come before tax cuts, the reverse of the House priorities.
  • He is positioning Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to own the reason it will not be fixed if they block it in the Senate. Harry and Louise will ask why we cannot have the plans we want.
  • If all else fails, I expect a DHHS waiver for the Health Insurers to sell competing products outside the requirements, less coverage for much lower rates.

Just a guess… YMMV.

Why would DHS so this? Isn’t that Homeland Security?

Yes , DHS is Homeland Security. DHHS , however, with the magic of self correcting alternate realities, is not.

As usual, I hope you’re right, TKC.

But it looks to me that the usual suspect of the gop are up to their usual idiocy, scheming to keep obamacare in place while conspiring to come up with some fig leaf legislation that will allow them to claim they’ve done the opposite.

They want to have their cake and eat it too, which is famously unpossible.

If nothing else they should have already passed and signed into law an end to the ban of health insurance policies that cover only catastrophic care.

But no, stupid party, being stupid, because stupid. As usual.

As an addendum, I only hope Trump has not been elected too late in the game to fix the financial disaster and drain the swamp.

The Newt commented last night,”Ryan and McConnell are strong, mature personalities but they are more centralized than I would choose to be.”

    Now I’m truly worried.
