To BDB Members- A Question

I have a tendency to post short shots with a few images of what is on my mind, to stimulate conversation. I have written long pieces but my life rarely allows that.

I am worried that I am filling up the site with posts and it has never been my intention to be the only person posting. I have no desire to be unwelcome here. So I will pause from posting and ask the following:

  1. Am I writing too much ?
  2. Is it ‘shallow’ and simple and would you prefer fewer but longer pieces?
  3. Do you come here for conversation or to just read the post and move on?

I adapted this style based on a few concepts in attracting people:

  1. A site like this needs regular followers who check it at least daily.
  2. New content of any kind keeps people coming back and looking.
  3. Daily new content is the best way I know to keep them coming.

So, fellow BDB members, please let me know if I am hogging the place and messing up the living room with short , half baked screeds.

If you want more, then either ask or give me thundering silence. I am persistent, to get rid of me, you need to actually ask.

TK, post whatever length suits you. I find your posts interesting. I’ve been busy, but will figure out how to actually post here soon, to keep you company. Don’t worry so much! Brady had a horrible first half, but never count him out…

I tend towards the wordy in my own postings. Therefore, your postings are refreshing in a way I can’t be. I note that even in response to you I tend to write more than you did.

However, your point about stimulating speech is probably THE most valid. Unfortunately I am too busy, too old, and too dumb to have something useful to say on all occasions.

But I read your stuff with interest.

    TKC,

I had to restrain myself from liking every single comment you made at the other site so thus it follows that I’d be happy to see anything you had to say here, or anywhere.

But also I think your concepts about attracting people are correct. If you want people to visit a
site regularly they must have a reason to do so, which is generally that people would have reason to expect something new to read.

Thus, to make this site succeed, you should feel free to often- and to encourage others to comment as well.

Oops. You should feel free to comment often, I meant.

A brave response. You do understand I am a venomous monster who clouds the finds of his blind followers?

Well, I have been called worse.

      I shall press on.

I read your posts, short or long. I’m looking here more often now so it’s good to see the fresh ideas.
    Do press on.

I have been following your writing at the other site and am now glad to find it here. Short or long it is good either way. Perhaps if I wanted more on a subject I might take the liberty of adding a comment requesting additional thoughts.

I also enjoy your photos, travel diaries, life observations: the other 3/4 of life…Please consider posting some of that, too… :-)
